
15 Jan Flourless Chocolate Cake
3 “beaten” eggs ½ cup butter ½ cup cocoa powder ¾ cup white sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 4 (1ounce) semisweet chocolate squares (chopped) | Preheat oven to 300°F. Take an 8 inch round cake pan and lightly grease it (unsalted butter works well). Then, dust with cocoa powder. Melt the butter and chocolate in the top of a double boiler over slightly simmering water. Remove from heat and stir in eggs, cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla. Now, pour this mixture into the cake pan. Bake the cake for approximately 30 minutes. Allow it to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before turning it out onto a wire rack for complete cooling. Prior to serving, slices may be heated in the microwave, for those that enjoy warm cake. |
